The series was conceived and produced by Jeffery Plansker, the proprietor of The Bloke, and a renowned host of jazz broadcasts and an expert in jazz history.  Jeffery engaged several other colleagues to create a series of broadcasts celebrating and featuring jazz musicians and music with Caribbean influences.
